Our Alpacas
Meet Our Friendly Four-Legged Friends
Meet our girl group of alpacas, mums and daughters Audrey, Alma, Daphne, Dorothy, Ethel, and Effie! They are a super friendly bunch and love to meet new people! Feel free to come over and say hello to them during your stay, or if you’d like to feed them – ask at reception, and we’ll see if we can arrange this for you.
Audrey
Audrey is the proud mum of two beautiful alpacas – Alma, her daughter here at Catgill Farm, and Alfie, her son at Howgill Lodge. She’s the matriarch of the group and is super friendly, but watch out because Audrey does have a tendency to spit!
Alma
This beige beauty is the daughter of Audrey, she’s very friendly but definitely has her quirks! She likes to roll around and sit in the food buckets, just like her brother Alfie. And she was born with a white heart shape on her forehead!
Daphne
Daphne is the free spirit of the group and is often off doing her own thing, enjoying her time outdoors. She’s a lovely soul who loves to meet new people, so she will certainly pop over to say hello to you.
Dorothy
Dorothy is the lone wolf of the group, she’s fiercely independent but adores her daughter Daphne. She loves to come over for some attention, but she will sometimes spit if you get too close!
Ethel
Ethel is everyone’s favourite auntie, looking after everyone in the group. She can sometimes be a little shy, but she is a lovely girl with lots of love to give. She is also the proud mother of Effie the youngest of the alpacas.
Effie
Effie is the baby of the group, she had to be hand reared, so holds an extra soft spot in our hearts. She loves to hang out with her mum Ethel, but mostly she just enjoys sitting down and having a good head scratch.
